EXPERT BUILDER

Over the decades I’ve spent sitting behind a desk during my career, I have generally focused my spare time researching or doing something creative. I’ve explored music, crafts, history, portrait and landscape painting, restoring old furniture, and holidaying which typically involves seeing shows, visiting museums and exhibitions, and exploring art galleries.

With my husband’s skill at working with tools and loving physical work, we’ve come to really enjoy the creative process in renovating houses and units. Over the past 20 years have upgraded several of our homes and investment properties. So, I’m pretty handy with tile cutters, gap fillers, plastering, and paint brushes these days.

TRAVELLER

I was born in Fiji and immigrated to Australia (Canberra) with my family when I was a child. It was a shock moving from the warm tropics to icy cold temperatures but I loved the novelty of it all!

Maybe, that’s where my desire to experience new places, meet people and learn about different ways to live life was born. When I can I travel, I have lived and worked in 4 countries and travelled to over 50 countries. When I’m at home I enjoy walking my dog in the outdoors and watching the sunset on the beach.

COOK

I have always enjoyed cooking as a means of relaxation. As a child, I would help my mother making biscuits and cakes for the family. While a university student, I worked in a Chinese restaurant which piqued my interest in Asian cooking. I love the simplicity and light, fresh flavours of Asian meals. I hope to combine my travel and cooking interests by attending some overseas cooking classes.

GARDENER

With over 20 years of experience supporting projects in the UK and Australia, I’ve seen a lot. When I’m not deep in a project schedule, analyzing project data or thinking up a better way to resolve a project issue I can often be found in my garden tending to succulents, flowers and hanging baskets.
I also enjoy keeping physically active and showing the awesomeness of the world to my children.

HAT COLLECTOR

I grew up in New Caledonia and started working in IT in Norway in the oil industry. I love to solve problems, and enjoy all aspects of support, whether technical, emotional, spiritual or medical. I worked also as a medical health practitioner and although IT is technical and about systems, for me it is first and foremost about people and how to help them use the technology available to them.

I also like acting, and did a theatre show many years ago in full attire and have been posing for the local newspaper in New Caledonia (“Les Nouvelles”) when I was a bit younger. I own a collection of hats from my overseas trips: Mexican, Chinese with the pony tail, Rastafari with dreadlocks, Kuwaiti Keffiyeh Agal (the Arabic headcloth worn by men), Tahitian and many others but my favourite is the Aussie outback Akubra!
